Sedona, Arizona | Cathedral Rock, Elopement

Katie reached out to me on instagram and asked me to photograph their engagement session at Lost Dutchman State park. (Check it out here!) We had the best time.

When she asked me to photograph their elopement I was so excited. We climbed to the top of Cathedral Rock in Sedona where they could read their vows. She exchanged hiking shoes for heels and shorts and a tee shirt with a dress and it was just about the dreamiest ceremony you could have. These two are so sweet. I loved the simplicity of this day. People hiking from afar watched as they said “I do”. We were surrounded by the vast openness of the red rocks and you couldn’t help but get emotional.

We finished the day with a 1998 bottle of Don Perignon and a picnic at the base of the mountain.

I love seeing the day that my couples create and having the opportunity to capture it as it is. When I photograph I aim to capture the details and little moments that encapsulate the day so that when you look back you can feel the nostalgia that all these things create.
